Are You or Your Patients at Risk for Heart Disease?

Do You Experience Chest Pain? Jaw Pain? Shortness of Breath?

Do You Have High Blood Pressure? Smoke? High Cholesterol, Overweight? Family History of Heart Disease?

New Hartford Scanner Associates Announces New Life-Saving Technology.

Many times, people with heart disease have few visible symptoms. Yet it is the number one killer for both men and women in America.

New Hartford Scanner Associates introduces the latest CT Technology with it’s Siemens Sensation 64-row CT scanner. As seen on the Oprah Winfrey show, it can scan heart vessels to see if you or your patients are at risk for a heart attack. The new 64-slice scanner enables a more accurate diagnosis of arterial blockages, aortic dissections and pulmonary embolisms by using unprecedented speed and resolution. A scan of the chest, abdomen and pelvis can be performed in 11 seconds during a single breath hold.

The exam is noninvasive; much the same as a regular CT Scan. The patient is injected with a contrast agent and then lies down for about 15 seconds while the scanner takes pictures. The scanner’s computer reconstructs the spiral data into hundreds of 2-D images, much like slices from an orange. The radiologist’s computer processes the slices, creating a 3-D composite that can show the heart arteries as well as the pumping action of the heart.
